An Idealist

Imbued with the delicacy, refinement, and sensitivity inherent to people from southern China, he is a design visionary who pursues creativity in culture, form, and color. As a promoter of local aesthetics and culture in the Greater Bay Area, he is deeply influenced by Oriental aesthetics and adept at breaking free from existing spatial forms to integrate diverse cultures into his works.

Though he has traveled and studied around the world, seeing countless architectural marvels, it was during a visit to Kyoto Imperial Palace Gardens in Japan in 2018 that he experienced a soul-stirring impact from space—specifically, the dry landscape gardens (kare-sansui). Later, when he visited Kengo Kuma’s studio and his Sunny Hills Japan pastry shop, the master architect’s dedication, humility, and purity only strengthened Lin’s resolve to pursue his own path in design.
